Turning Your Annual Checkup Around

It seems like Reputation Defender has slowly turned my attention towards libel and misrepresentation on the internet. While scouring for some other "helpful" services like RD, I came across a complaint about RateMDs, a site where users can rate and comment on their physicians. A doctor was upset at being misrepresented on the website, but this post won't even try to enter that argument right now.

In a world which is experiencing a shortage of health care professionals, this site is a breath of fresh air. There are so many places where you can find opinions about various products (both necessary and excessive), but none (to the best of my knowledge) that allow you to research how to best take care of your most valuable "commodity", your health and livelihood.

I do, however, browse RateMDs with severe skepticism. Everyone knows that a single, highly charged experience can sway an opinion easily; the reviews here are likely subject to that as well. Instead, if I end up needing it, I plan to use it like Rate My Professors: as a roadmap to either re-inforce prior choices or to provide the foundation for further research.

In any case, enjoy!
