Friday's News

Care of Saturday. Sorry about this, now that I've made up for the delayed TT, I figure I should at least post some new stuff I discovered while browsing the 'Fork today:

- Spoon has released details about their new album! Check it out on Pitchfork, there's a tracklist and some tour details. I've really got to get on Merge's mailing list...

- Does it come as any surprise to you that The Arcade Fire have been chosen to headline a part of a David Bowie-organized festival? Me neither.

- Speaking of upcoming albums, The White Stripes have officially announced some info regarding Icky Thump. Reported by Pitchfork (discovered through CMJ) and subsequently confirmed, there are now some track names, some tour info, and news about the album's instrumentation. WTF IT INCLUDES BAGPIPES WTF?

- Happy Happy Birthday To Me has a sweet lineup of bands confirmed for their upcoming limited run 7" singles club, including the likes of Of Montreal, Apples In Stereo, and Gunther (moustache and all). Fine, that last one was a joke; read more from my source. My pre-order has been submitted already, I really hope I'm within the first 150!

Okay, enough news-leeching. Tomorrow/today I'll have something not news-based for you, promise.
